Learn the basics of getting around town on the bus.

Using the Trip Planner

1.   Enter where you are & where you're going into the Trip Planner!
2.   If it doesn't understand your inputs you will see "Found multiple results, select." Click this box and you will see a drop down box, select a location from the listed choices.
3.   Once your locations are found, click Search & then click Show Selected Trip Options.
4.   Pick the trip option that best fits your schedule!
5.   Click Return Connection in the top right corner for return trip options.

How to Read a Bus Schedule

1.   Check the bus route number on the bus schedule to make sure you have the right bus!
2.   Major bus stops are listed in the order the bus arrives at them. From the bus stops listed, find the stop closest to you & pick which one you want to ride to.
3.   Find the time you need to arrive at your destination by and determine when you need to catch the bus to get there on time by looking across the chart.

Taking the Bus

1.   When waiting for the bus, flag the bus driver to make sure they know you want their bus and not a different one.
2.   Insert your money into the box at the front of the bus to get your fare ticket. If you need to transfer to another bus in the same bus system (ex. Triangle Transit to Triangle Transit) ask the bus driver for a transfer ticket when you pay your fare.
Remember: The bus driver cannot give you change back so bring exact change!
3.   When you want to get off the bus, pull the cord along the window or press the strip above your head. If you are unsure where your stop is, tell the bus driver where you want to go and they should help.

Triangle Transit can take you all the way to Durham or Chapel Hill! Just catch a bus on Hillsborough St or Western Blvd.

Park and Ride Lots

Don't want to pay for a parking pass? Just park your car at one of these Park and Ride lots and catch the bus to campus!

Ride to & from RDU Airport

Catch the Triangle Transit 105 bus on Hillsborough St, take it to the Regional Transit Center, and then transfer to the Triangle Transit 747 RDU Shuttle. This shuttle bus will take you to both Terminal 1 & Terminal 2.

From opposite side of campus on Hillsborough St, take CAT 12 to Peace at Glenwood (by Mellow Mushroom) or from the campus side of Wade Ave, take CAT 4 to Glenwood at Morgan (by Moonlight Pizza). From Glenwood South take the R-Line around downtown.
In Downtown Raleigh:
Sushi Blues, Raleigh Times Bar, Char Grill, Flying Saucer, Buckhead Saloon and more.

UNC

From any Triangle Transit stop opposite campus on Hillsborough St, take Triangle Transit 105 to the Regional Transit Center. From there take Triangle Transit 403 or 413 to the UNC Student Union or Franklin St.

Moore Square Transit Station

From opposite campus on Hillsborough St, take CAT 12 or Triangle Transit 105 or from the campus side of Wade Ave, take CAT 4.
In Moore Square:
Concerts & Events, Rum Runners, City Market, Tir na nog, IMAX Theatre and from Moore Square Transit Station, you can take the bus almost anywhere in the Triangle!
